A Nigerian man is making headlines online for the wrong reasons. According to source, a Nigerian man, who goes by the name, Ubong Uwak, was said to have been seen looking for a partner on Facebook.

While this sounds as normal as anything else, his, is perculiar, because he recently lost his wife, Glory. She was set to be buried on 1st August 2025. But in July, he was seen on Facebook, looking for a God fearing sister to praise God with.

While people on dovisl media are speculating that the lady died from a domestic violence related issue, we can’t confirm thag just yet.

The Calabar or Akwa Ibom native was said to have claimed to be 41 years old and childless, his late wife’s obituary photo shows the was 43 as at the time of her death.

Mr Uwak, who was expected to be in his mourning state, since his late wife was still in mortuary, was instead impatient, and already looking to replace her.

Her funeral arrangements were also written in detail there. The service is to be held in apostolic with church, Uyo Area Head Quarter, at 40 Etuk street in Uyo on 1st August 2025, at 10am.

The Facebook page where he was seen soliciting for a God fearing wife, was ‘God Feating Singles’, and he wrote: Good morning God-fearing faithful Im Ubong Uwak from Nigeria 41 years. I’m not sure if this is the real age, since his wife was 43 years.

Does it mean that he is older than he is, by 2 years? He continued, “Widower, no kids yet, hoping to have someday. Let’s praise God together. Feel free to message ,he concluded by saying, he was new, and needs a God fearing sister.”

In Nigeria, the people have various cultures and traditions, some are perculiar to a certain tribe, while some are common across the tribes, and one of those common traditions is that, a bereaved spouse is expected to mourn their loss for a significant period, before they can even think about dating or remarrying.

I always push for people to mind their business, especially the one that pays them, but this doesn’t look okay. This is not right. If at all this man did this on facebook, then this is really horrible.

The man should have just exercised some patience till August. It is literally just few weeks from now, and he would have just stayed till the end, he just had to go and spoil whatever it was that he was pretending to be.
