A sleep-deprived French father, who goes by the name Sanzo.spqr on Instagram, has shared a hilarious video of his nighttime routine to illustrate the confusion that occurs when a person is sleep-deprived.
The hilarious video, which wasn’t hilarious back when it happened. A man was sleeping right beside his baby and the family pet, a cat.
They all slept in bed, and suddenly, the man got up. With his eyes still closed, he picked up the sleeping family cat and started cuddling it, just as he would a baby that was crying and in need of a cuddle.
The man who supposedly heard the baby crying and suddenly got up from his sleep must have heard, or imagined the baby crying, all while the baby was soundly asleep.
But he woke the cat up and assumed it was the baby, who was crying in his imagination. He stood and took a short walk with the confused cat, who was wondering why he was being cuddled in the middle of the night, instead of the baby.
He no doubt enjoyed the time he spent with the sleep-deprived Dad, and he knew it wasn’t going to last, because the man was going to open his heavy eyes eventually and realise he was with the wrong body.
When the man eventually realised what he was doing wrong, he dropped the cat off and rushed to the bed, only to see the baby sleeping peacefully in bed, right beside where he had been earlier.
He posted the video on Instagram and stated that he didn’t know that lack of sleep would do this to him.
This is a man being this stressed out. Imagine what a woman who carries the baby in their belly for months, in pain, body changed, DNA altered, pain before, during, and after birth.
They then nurture the baby to adulthood, they rely on her for everything, from food to security, morals, lessons and everything in between.
The baby grows up, and half the time, they are either angry with the way choices were made for them, or they are angry at the mother, for some reason
The world believes that men have it easier, even though this man is not having it easier, for reasons best known to him.
He was linked to that child in the way women are linked to their children, when they are so used to caring for the child that sometimes, they hear the child cry in their imagination, and they are eager to make the child stop crying.
This was the exact thing that happened to the man in the video. Bless him, he thought he heard the baby cry, but the baby was sound asleep, not bothering anyone.
But the man had to cuddle a cat instead, while assuming it was the baby he was cuddling.
They say men don’t need their paternity leave, but who helps the new mum with the new baby? It is an abomination among Africans to have only the woman who gave birth be the only one caring for the baby.
The grandmothers from both sides of the family will be questioned and asked if they are okay, because they will be blamed for any issue that arises from only the couple who directly created the child.
The grandparents who helped look after the child in the years before now did it because they were retired, and at that time, they could afford to be available for the next generation, because the economy wasn’t as bad as it is right now.
These grandparents had the time for leisure activities, and that includes caring for their children’s children.
They said it takes a village to raise a child, and these days, couples are being the village they were told about.
Grandchildren are the feathers of the crown of grandparenthood, especially in Africa, where people take pride in acknowledging the birth of their grandchildren.
But because of the times we are living in, these grandparents are still intensively working to meet their needs, to pay their bills, and to afford a shelter.
The reality is that grandparents these days end up housing their children and grandchildren in the basement,
which has been turned into a home for the children who can not afford their own homes, so they simply stay in their parents’ homes until they have gathered enough money to move out.
Some grandparents have to work to care for their child and grandchild, because the child can’t find a job, and who is going to take care of the grandchild, if their parents go to work?
So, some parents are not done taking care of their child/children, so they are not exactly thrilled to see that there is now an extra mouth to feed,
other than those of the children, and all of this will be on the grandparents, especially if the family of the father is in the household hold, so the child’s mother may be in her mothers home with the father.
Conclusion
Grandparents would have financially assisted the direct parents of their grandchild, so they have mixed feelings when a child who is financially responsible for their child will now come back to also include the next generation. It is exhausting and leaves whoever is paying for it, to be miserable.
