Man searches for late wife’s replacement on Facebook before her burial

A Nigerian man is making headlines online for the wrong reasons. According to source, a Nigerian man, who goes by the name, Ubong Uwak, was said to have been seen looking for a partner on Facebook.

While this sounds as normal as anything else, his, is perculiar, because he recently lost his wife, Glory. She was set to be buried on 1st August 2025. But in July, he was seen on Facebook, looking for a God fearing sister to praise God with.

While people on dovisl media are speculating that the lady died from a domestic violence related issue, we can’t confirm thag just yet.
The Calabar or Akwa Ibom native was said to have claimed to be 41 years old and childless, his late wife’s obituary photo shows the was 43 as at the time of her death.

Mr Uwak, who was expected to be in his mourning state, since his late wife was still in mortuary, was instead impatient, and already looking to replace her.
Not one honour, not quite sure how long ago she died, but she wasn’t honour to her grave before the man she was linked to on earth is already looking to replace her.

Some interpret this as the first sign of fear, fear of loneliness, while some said he was considering how long he had to endure abstaining from sex, which was why he was already thinking about her replacement.
Nigerians are reacting to the news in different ways, while some are calling others to order, saying the shouldn’t judge what they dont know anything about.

However, the family of the lady, are on Facebook, spilling the tea for those who didnt know the back story.
The shared a fairly recent photo of the couple on their wedding day, where they were seen dancing in excitement.

The lady was a religious aunty, and had little to jo makeup on her face for her special say. The man was smartly dressed in his suit, smiling as he stared at his dancing bride.

Many people are not sure if this was even the man on Facebook, looking to replace his wife, or he is a victim of some restless and hating person trying to tarnish his image.

What if someone is doing that, to make him look bad and hate him for it. One thing is tht we can never underestimate the extent a determined evil perosn could go to make their hate significant in their target. This is definitely a serious issue, if at all this was him doing this.

The Facebook page that posted the wedding photo as an evidence to bavk what theh claimed, also posted the obituary photo of the late wife. At the top of the page was written, irreplaceable loss, the late wife was smiling her name was boldy written ‘Late Mrs Glory Ubong Uwak’.

Her funeral arrangements were also written in detail there. The service is to be held in apostolic with church, Uyo Area Head Quarter, at 40 Etuk street in Uyo on 1st August 2025, at 10am.

The Facebook page where he was seen soliciting for a God fearing wife, was ‘God Feating Singles’, and he wrote: Good morning God-fearing faithful Im Ubong Uwak from Nigeria 41 years. I’m not sure if this is the real age, since his wife was 43 years.

Does it mean that he is older than he is, by 2 years? He continued, “Widower, no kids yet, hoping to have someday. Let’s praise God together. Feel free to message ,he concluded by saying, he was new, and needs a God fearing sister.”

In Nigeria, the people have various cultures and traditions, some are perculiar to a certain tribe, while some are common across the tribes, and one of those common traditions is that, a bereaved spouse is expected to mourn their loss for a significant period, before they can even think about dating or remarrying.

This ofourse, starts to count after the burial. No one is looked upon as a caring, loving and faithful spouse, when they try to replace the late parhenr even before they are buried.
For a woman who will be buried next month, the husband has no business looking for a replacement just yet.

They said it is ’till death do us part’, and now that shenis dead, he is biblically free to do whatever he wants. He should aleast bury the woman.

We all know that this wouldn’t be taken this lightly if the reverse was the case. If the man had died, and the woman was so much as seen soliciting for his replacement on Facebook, we wouldn’t have heard the last of it. She would have been ostracised and banished.

People are al over social media making excuses or him, but these sane people will not try to make any excuse for the the woman, but they will push for her punishment.

I always push for people to mind their business, especially the one that pays them, but this doesn’t look okay. This is not right. If at all this man did this on facebook, then this is really horrible.

The man should have just exercised some patience till August. It is literally just few weeks from now, and he would have just stayed till the end, he just had to go and spoil whatever it was that he was pretending to be.

That rather unsettling, and hat will be the fate of the next person he will get in his home? Because if he was accused of being tied up in domestic violence saga, then he just might do the samething to the next person. So it is very important for everyone to watch out before they end up in the same way.

Meeting random people these days on social media, is so scary, that we start to appreciate the days when parenr would investigate the family and background of a person that their daughter wants to marry, or the one who wants to marry their daughter. This ensures safety for both parties.
